I’m happy to announce the second alpha release of KeePassX 2.0.
The most important changes are:
– Import kdb (KeePass 1) files [#2]
– Display history items [#23]
– Implement history item limits [#16]
– Group and entry icons can be set [#22]
– Add keyboard shortcuts
– Search in databases [#24]
– Sortable entry view
– Support building Mac OS X bundles
This time we are providing a Mac OS X bundle.
Windows binaries will probably follow with the next alpha version.
Feel free to test the new version and report any issues at http://www.keepassx.org/dev.
You can get the release from http://www.keepassx.org/dev/projects/keepassx/files
or checkout the git repository at http://gitorious.org/keepassx.
Beware, this is an alpha release and not intended to be used in a production environment.
Thank you so much for your work!
It is only an alpha, but i liked it so much! Thank you!!!!
Any chance that we can get an OS X build compatible with 32-bit core-duo machines? (they can only update to snow leopard) Right now it only looks like its built for 64 bit machines.
I managed to build it on a 32-bit core duo 10.6 machine. Works great! Way better than having to run keepass vanilla using mono.
Love to see the next alpha that remembers the last DB opened!!!
Not that useful (for alpha). Just associate the extension (.kdbx) to the app and link to the file instead of the app. So instead of starting keepassx just open the db file.
Runs well and imports my 0.4.3-based database on Mac OS X Mountain Lion.
I can’t find the keyboard shortcuts… do I need to configure those in a config file (there is no UI that I can see for them), or are they not available in the OSX build?
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this great app!
Is there any chance some toolbar buttons will come back? copy user/password was very useful…
Thanks. like it so far. keep up the good work!
I really would love an option to show the application window always on top on my Mac. I have been waiting since the first release. It would be much easier to drag password and user name when you have many windows open and Keepassx keeps hiding 😉
Really looking forward to 2.0. Thanks for your work on this!
Why do you say this? Do you have a reason not to trust this software?
Oops. I hit the wrong reply link.
Are there any plans for secret service API integration?
As much as I like and appreciate this App, it seems to be a side project for the devs, I am moving on to a paid service, faster development since they have the incentive to work on it.
Yes me too, I moved on a paid product, notably for the browser integration.
what about the known features of keepassx? remind and open the last database. pwd generator. show all content of one entry – solution with tabs is horror! browser integration…. much work to do, but yes Thank’s so far. Works fine with Mtn.Lion.
Thanks a lot for your work!
Finally was able to install, now can share password file btwn window, linux, android with out exporting after every update.
Thanks a lot for your work!
I thought this project was dead as there were no updates for a long time. Thanks for your work!
Thanks for your work!
Many thanks for your work and looking forward for next versions. I hope that Debian/Ubuntu packages will be available later.
Where is my favorite password generator?
Nice work …. of course alpha, but very good.
I miss the preview pane for the entries … and the password field in the list (to doubleclick)
great work so far. another vote to see the password generator back in there
Please, could you provide a 32bit OS X build as well? The first Intel Macs were 32bit only and run Snow Leopard max. Thanks.
P.S. I have seen the comment about building your own, but I am glad I got rid off MacPorts (use Homebrew now)
Great work, and truly appreciate the effort. Looking forward to 2.0.
KeepassX 2.0 makes a good impression already. Can’t wait for the final release, I say. 🙂
