I’d be really careful. I used this for a long time and it was great BUT then it failed and now I get an error when trying to compile and I am not a programmer. So now I have an unusable vault with over 100 usernames and passwords that I can not get at. I tried various versions and fixes but seem to be in a endless loop of posting, downloading and not getting a working package. For Windows great but not for Linux and I dont know what will happen if they go away, ie. You get left with a bad vault. The exact message I get is
lib/random.cpp:98:19: error: ‘getpid’ was not declared in this scope
Great software! I use it and I promote it to my friends.
However, I have some difficulties permanently installing it on one of my MACs. Each time I want to use the KeepassX I have to “install it” or mount it (better description for what happens) from the KeePassX – 0.4.3.dmg!? I suppose that “one” installation should be enough and the program should then move to directory with my other apps? Right?
Where do I fail? Also, I am relatively new MAC user.
On the Mac, a “dmg” file is a Disk Image File. Opening a dmg file is similar to inserting a physical disk (or mounting a volume). So yes: for anything you want to be on your local hard drive, you need to copy the file or files from the mounted dmg to a location on your hard drive.
I just couldn’t work out what was behind the Royal London hospital where athlete quiz
cheats surgeons put her back together when she was 16.
But it would be nice that it’s been worth it inn the winter or summer.
Which version should be used in productive everyday use? Keepassx 0.4.3 seems to be stable but it’s said not to be supported anymore. On the other hand, the 2.0 Versions are still in alpha. I don’t want to loose my passwords and they need to be stored in a secure way
I just came across the keepassx-2.0 version – glad to see that keepassx is adressing v2.0 database format. Currently I use the original keepass 2.x under Win7, and under Linux / mono – works fine, however some of the UI glitches under mono still need to be resolved.
Keepassx 2.0 alpha6 already looks much cleaner, starts up lightning fast, and has the functionality I use mostly. Just waiting for a production release before putting my digital life into its hands..
For X-platform compatibility, will keepassx-2.0 follow the (infrequent) keepass database format changes?
thanks & regards
Seems to be loosing features. Used to be able to export to other files. Then it could only export to it’s own database but it couldn’t open it. Now I see that the newest version can’t export at all. I’m done and looking for something else.
I just love you!
Really good work. I’m using KeePassX for several years on Ubuntu and it’s just totally awesome.
Thank you very much and enjoy a beer from my donation. 😉
Same database can be opened in Windows, Portable Windows edition and Linux
Big thank you!
Hello, the latest alpha (alpha 5), is secure for use 24h?? With secure I meant, my passwords are protected.
Regards.

Use this patch or the latest 2.0 alpha:

Great application! Thank you!
It keeps all my work and passwords secure. A must have program

Problem solved!
It was as easy as to copy and paste the KeePassX from the mounted folder into the program folder….
Thanks any way!

This is a great application. I use it every day and could not do without it! 🙂
I really hope that development is continued on this great project, I am eagerly anticipating the release of KeePassX version 2…

Hey,
please keep up the good work on keepassx.
Its simply the best solution for password management.
Thank you so much for this!
I work on a Mac, have an iPhone and have a Windows PC. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words, but I’m closing the comments now.
